Cecil Tian (also known as SentientCookie), is a Canadian illustrator, comic artist, and street artist. She holds a Bachelor of Design (BDes) in illustration from OCAD University.

Cecil’s work focuses heavily on elements of storytelling and conveying the nuances of sentience, psychology, and the human condition. She strives to capture subtleties in fleeting thoughts and emotions that we experience and translate them into visual/sequential art. Her work intends to connect viewers with themselves by depicting and expressing common, shared experiences, empowering them to take what resonates and feel seen and heard.

Cecil has illustrated for various comics, novels, and children’s books. She has published an original comic book “Echoes of the Brain”, a collection of narrative work of the experiences of her original character Dylan Qin and his journey to becoming a prominent musician.

When not drawing or writing comics, she is usually inhaling reading them. Cecil also likes live music and sticker bombing the entire city.
