Cecil Tian (also known as SentientCookie), is a Toronto-based illustrator, comic artist, and street artist. She holds a Bachelor of Design in illustration from OCAD University.

Cecil’s work focuses heavily on elements of storytelling and conveying the nuances of sentience and the human condition. She strives to capture subtleties in fleeting thoughts and emotions that we experience and translate them into visual/sequential art. Her work intends to connect viewers with themselves by depicting and expressing common, shared experiences, empowering them to take what resonates to feel seen and heard.

She is the creator of “Echoes of the Brain”, a collection of narrative comics featuring her original character, Dylan Qin, a young musician navigating creativity, relationships, and vulnerability.

When not drawing or writing comics, she is probably inhaling reading them. Cecil also likes live music and sticker bombing the entire city.
